Christmas

The other day, I took some more professional shots of Jackie:

This is the new dress I bought for her.

This is the latest photo of her in her Christmas dress.

I've ordered a few new things for her, I am hoping they will arrive after Christmas.

I also got a few things that I ordered from Japan. A pen, notebook, and schedule book. They're great. I really love the artwork of The Bears' School. Looks like oil paint. I'm really pleased, and I plan to make another order very soon.

Do you have any plans for Christmas? I am going to have a quiet Christmas at home this year.

Friday :)

Yesterday was a fairly fun day. We went out for dinner. Took Jackie of course. She wore her best dress, and really liked desert.

I later found her relaxing... in the buff!!!!

Christmas Photo

I should include this lovely photo of Jackie for Christmas.... in her latest dress....

Do you think she looks beautiful?

Tea Time with Jackie

Today Jackie was found making coffee and tea and generally having a time of her own. I think she wants to work at a coffee shop - she seems to come to life when she gets around coffee. But maybe it is just the espresso! Anyway - today she got two new dresses, one of which she is modelling in this photo. I hope you like it as much as she likes it !

Nostalgia

Back in the day, I was the owner of RilakkumaWorld.com. I also had a flickr, RilakkumaWorld. It's amazing to me that my photos from the site are still used to this day. I can google certain terms, and still see my photos.

I called this one "Rilakkuma's Date Night". It took us some time to make the photo collage in front of my old red curtains in the spare living room of my old home. My ex-husband created it. He was pretty good with that stuff. I usually thought up the ideas for the photos, he'd help "bring them to life". This is one of the more popular ones, I find it all over the place from people's blogs to Facebook and on. I still have both of these Kumas as well.

My ex made the pancakes. A little thick I think. I hated those red plates, they never fit properly into a dishwasher, were thick and just overall terrible. I got rid of them when I moved. Still, I am not surprised to find this photo on the internet. Nothing ever really goes away does it.

I really like using my fuzzy ones for photos. I must say, the Rilakkuma isn't in quite as good condition anymore, he's been very loved now. This photo was taken in front of my old house. Sometimes I had a tough time thinking of creative photos. But towards the end of my Flickr fame, I could post just about anything and everyone liked it. I guess that's how it goes with Rilakkuma.

After my divorce, I took everything down. Flickr, my blogs, everything. I packed away my Rilakkumas. All of them. Everything I did then, I got rid of. Even my camera. I wanted no reminders of my ex, of my life during that time. It's only recently I've been able to pull them out of the storage room - almost 5 years later. Now Rilakkuma is so famous, everyone loves him, he's all over the internet. But it's really something to see my photos still being used to this day.

Miserable weather today.

It's raining, but it's not snowing. So I suppose it's not so bad. Today Jackie wanted to go out, but she must wear a jacket in this weather. She hates wearing jackets and pants, only dresses. She is such a girly girl. She had a little tantrum when I dressed her in pants. Eventually I had to get a pretty bow for her ...ear. That changed everything. She's very happy now and ready to go out.

I really love Jackie. She has such a cute personality. She also takes wonderful photos, especially with that pout of hers!

Later, it did clear up. So, I gave in and took Jackie out to "see the princesses" (of course in her purple dress)...

She's so cute, isn't she?

Coffee and Shopping

Today we didn't do too much. I brought Jackie out for a new dress.

I think she looks really nice in purple. It fits her well. She seems very happy in it.

We also went for coffee. Jackie likes Starbucks mochas.

It was very windy and rainy out, so I had to ask Jackie to wear something warm. She wasn't overly happy with the whole thing, she much prefers dresses. But she did oblige, and I think she still looked very cute.

Other than that, not much to report. Just enjoying our time together!

Jackie is here!

So finally, today, Jackie arrived! (2 Jackies!)

The soft Jackie is created from just regular fabric. Very soft, curly fur and a cute face.

The limited edition Jackie has a secret number. I can't reveal the number! It is a secret! She comes with a certificate of authenticity.

At first, she didn't want to show her face! She hid from me! I think she is shy!

Eventually, she turned around - and she was so cute!

It seems the two got along fine :) They were both a little nervous!

I heard she was a little shy about being naked. So I looked for some clothes to put her in.

She borrowed Rilakkuma's coat and boots, but she wasn't satisfied. She said it's just too heavy for her.

When she gets shy, she hops in her little box.

Eventually we went shopping for a lovely dress. It fit her perfectly! She put it on, and she felt amazing!

I also got her a cute elf costume, because she said she would like to nap in that instead.

Jackie is so happy to be home!

Winter's Coming

I'm ordering the hat and scarf from Mira Plush. I've been looking for a Rilakkuma hat since I missed out on the limited one years ago. This is absolutely perfect. Can't wait.

Still waiting on Jackie from The Bears' School. Hopefully tomorrow or the next day. Thankfully I shipped EMS, so they can't drop the ball on this either way.

Welcome

Welcome to my blog about all things cute and bear. It's December, and it's a good time to start a blog for my bears, as I'll be getting quite a few new characters. I hope.

I suppose I should start by saying I am a fairly serious collector of all things Japan and specifically San-x. How serious? I have characters in my collection like MokoMoko Ferret, and his skunk friend. So serious that size has become somewhat of a concern, and I appreciate the "Small" option of some characters much more now. I'm not a figure collector. The hardest things I have are Re-ment sets. Mainly I own plushes. Tons of them. Almost all San-x. I'm trying to expand my love to other characters. It's tough with Rilakkuma. He keeps being cute. My collection keeps growing.

This is my latest Rilakkuma addition

I got both the Rilakkuma and the outfit from Mira Plush. The plush is called "Fluffy Rilakkuma" - his fur is just a tiny bit longer than standard. The coat and boots are from the "Rilakkuma Rilakkuloset" series.

Some positives about this seller: I can say with certainty as a collector, the items are 100% Authentic and arrived safe and sound from Hong Kong. Normally I'd prefer to order from Japan, however it is very difficult to find Japanese sellers with good communication that want to ship outside of Japan. It's very easy for me to see the items are authentic from Mira Plush. It's getting more and more difficult to tell the difference between fakes and authentics as Rilakkuma has become so popular. I remember when I first started looking for Rilakkuma, search results on eBay yielded NO results. Imagine that.

Not a bear, but I wanted to add this little cutie. Got him from Kawaii Gifts. Super fast, great service, excellent selection of authentic San-x plush characters and other products.

I'm also really excited, because I am getting a Bears' School bear: Jackie - this week. My first of this character, I fell completely in love. I have a couple new ones coming, one by Bandai, and one by Sekiguchi, which is a limited edition of 1000 pieces created from mohair. The seller of the limited one is Puri-Q. Excellent service coming out of Taiwan. I try to deal with mostly Japanese sellers as they are excellent in service and communication, and of course the authentic items, but this seller blew away my stereotypes. Puri-Q shipped the same day I paid. I must also say, that I've spent a lot of man hours trying to get someone to talk to me regarding this bear. A lot of messages go unanswered. Communication issues likely. But Puri-Q was awesome. Answered right away, gave me shipping options, sent me photos of the bear, and posted immediately once I paid. What more can a person ask for? This entire transaction made my holiday season. The Bears' School is much more difficult to get than Rilakkuma. To get the limited version of this bear, is almost impossible. I'm very lucky!

I'll post some pics of my new friends when they arrive :)
